Cookie, Ads & Tracking Notice

This notice explains the small files and tools we use on our website, in the Anido web app and in the mobile apps. It adds detail to our Privacy Policy.

The short version

  • Inside Anido (web and mobile), we only use what Anido needs to work, unless you say yes to more.
  • Ads and analytics tools are off until you turn them on.
  • We never use your family's health information for ads. No health information, no elder information and no screen names ever go to ad or analytics companies.
  • There are no ads inside Anido.

01What these words mean

  • Cookie: a small text file a website saves in your browser.
  • Local storage: a similar place in your browser where a website saves data, such as an offline copy.
  • SDK: a piece of code from another company that runs inside an app.
  • Pixel or tag: a small piece of code on a web page that tells an ad company someone visited.

02The Anido web app

The web app is where you sign in at anidoapp.com. It uses only strictly necessary storage:

  • Session: keeps you signed in and protects your account.
  • Preferences: remembers your language, text size and theme.
  • Offline cache: keeps a copy of your care circle on your device, so Anido works without a connection and syncs later. It is removed when you sign out.

The web app has no ad pixels and no ad tags. Because these items are needed for the service to work, we don't ask for consent to use them.

03Our public website

Our public pages (for example the home page and help pages) may use:

  • Analytics: to count visits and see which pages help. Calyx Analytics (our own tool, operated by Orchid Media LLC)
  • Ad measurement: pixels or tags from Meta, Google and TikTok (only on our public marketing website, after cookie consent) so we can see whether our ads lead people to Anido.

These load only after you say yes in our cookie banner. If you reject them, or your browser sends Global Privacy Control, they don't load.

04The mobile apps

The Anido apps for iPhone and Android may use these tools:

  • Ad measurement (Meta, Google and TikTok (only on our public marketing website, after cookie consent)). Off until you turn it on. If you do, it receives only three events: install, first open and account created, with your device or advertising ID and IP address. It never receives health information, elder information, screen names, or medication, visit or document events.
  • Store attribution. Apple's SKAdNetwork and AdAttributionKit tell us how many installs came from an ad, without identifying you. On Android, we read the Google Play Install Referrer only if you turn on Ad measurement.
  • Product analytics (Calyx Analytics (our own tool, operated by Orchid Media LLC) and Calyx Analytics). Off until you turn it on. It records which features are used, with a random ID. It never includes health information, and we don't record your screen.
  • Crash reports (Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.)). On, because we need them to keep Anido reliable. We remove personal and health details before they are sent.
  • Push notifications (Apple Push Notification service and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging). Only if you allow notifications on your phone. See Privacy Policy, section 10.

05Apple's App Tracking Transparency

On iPhone and iPad, Apple asks whether Anido may track you. "Tracking" means linking data from Anido with data from other companies' apps or websites for ads.

  • If you tap Ask App Not to Track, Ad measurement stays off and our ad partner gets no advertising ID from Anido.
  • If you tap Allow, Ad measurement turns on as described in section 4.

You can change this in your iPhone Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking, or in Anido under Settings › Privacy & data › Ad measurement.

06Global Privacy Control

Global Privacy Control (GPC) is a setting in some browsers that tells websites you don't want your information shared for ads.

When we detect GPC, we treat it as your request to opt out of ad measurement. We don't load ad pixels or tags, and if you are signed in, we also turn off Ad measurement for your account. You will see "Opt-out request honored" in the cookie preferences panel and on Your Privacy Choices.
