01What consumer health data we collect and why

"Consumer health data" means personal information that is linked or reasonably linkable to a person and identifies their past, present or future physical or mental health. It includes information we infer.

In Anido, most of this data is about the elder: the older adult a care team looks after. Some can be about you, for example if you write about your own health in a note or a support message.

CategoryExamplesWhy we collect it
Health conditions and allergiesConditions, allergies and how severe they are, blood typeTo show the care team and build the elder's Medical ID
Medications and dosesMedication names, strengths, schedules, prescribers, doses given, late, skipped or undone, stock and refillsTo send reminders, prevent double doses, track supply and keep the care record
Vital signsBlood pressure, glucose, weight, temperature, oxygen level, and the usual ranges the family setsTo record readings and compare them with the family's usual ranges
Visits and health professionalsDoctor and lab visits, reasons, prep items, questions, doctors and pharmaciesTo plan visits and decide who takes the elder
DocumentsPhotos or PDFs of lab results, prescriptions, visit notes and insurance cards, and the text read from themTo store them for the care team and, only if you allow it, to create AI summaries
AI summariesValues copied from a document, plain-language explanations, review statusTo explain documents in plain words, only if you allow AI summaries
Notes and handoversCare notes, mood, appetite and sleep observations, shift handoversTo keep everyone on the care team up to date
Elder mode activity"I took it" taps and "Call family" pressesTo record self-reported doses and alert the family
Medical IDA summary of identity, allergies, conditions, medications, blood type and emergency contactsTo have key facts ready when the care team needs them
Information we inferDose status (due, missed), days of supply left, progress, "in usual range" or "above usual range"To show what needs attention
Support messagesHealth details you choose to include when you contact usTo answer your request

If you turn on "Help improve Anido's AI", we also use de-identified copies of documents and summaries you add to improve Anido's AI features. This is off unless you turn it on.

02Where it comes from

We get consumer health data from:

  • You, when you type it, scan it or upload it.
  • Other members of the care team, when they add or update information.
  • The elder, when they use elder mode.
  • Documents you or your care team add, and the text we read from them.
  • Anido itself, when it works out things like dose status or creates an AI summary you asked for.

03What we share and who we share it with

Categories of consumer health data we share: all of the categories in section 1, except support messages and the de-identified data used to improve Anido's AI.

Who we share it with:

WhoWhat they receiveWhen
Members of the elder's care teamEverything in the care circle, based on their role and permissionsWhen the organizer or another member invites them and they join
Apple Maps or Google MapsThe address of a visitOnly when you tap the address to open it in a map
Government agencies, courts or other parties the law requiresOnly what the law or a valid legal order requiresOnly when the law requires it

Affiliates: we do not share consumer health data with any affiliate. none

We never share consumer health data with advertising or analytics companies.

We use service providers (called "processors") to run Anido, for example for hosting and AI summaries. They may use the data only to provide their service to us. They are listed at anidoapp.com/subprocessors.

04Your consent

We ask for two separate consents. Each one needs you to tick an empty box.

  • Consent to collect. When you create your account, and when an organizer adds an elder, we ask you to agree that Anido can store and process the health information you add.
  • Consent to share. Before you first invite someone to a care team, we ask you to agree that Anido can show the elder's health information to the people you invite.

Before we share consumer health data in any other way, we will ask for your separate consent first.

You can withdraw consent at any time. To stop us collecting, delete your account or the elder's information (see How to delete your account). To stop sharing with someone, the organizer can remove them from the care team. You can also email us at privacy@anidoapp.com.

05Your rights and how to use them

You have the right to:

  • Confirm whether we collect or share your consumer health data, and see it.
  • Get a list of all third parties and affiliates we have shared it with, with their contact details.
  • Withdraw your consent to collection or sharing.
  • Delete your consumer health data. We also tell our processors and the third parties we shared it with to delete it.

How to ask:

  • In the app: Settings › Privacy & data › Download my data, or Delete my account. Organizers can also use Delete the elder's information.
  • By email: write to privacy@anidoapp.com from the email linked to your account. Tell us which right you want to use.

The elder's rights. The elder, or their legal representative, can use these rights for the elder's information. Write to privacy@anidoapp.com. We verify the request, act on it, and tell the organizer, unless the elder or their representative asks us not to and we believe telling them could put the elder at risk.

Agents. Someone you authorize can ask for you. We will ask for proof that you gave them permission.

Verification. To protect the data, we confirm who you are before we act. Usually this means you are signed in, or you confirm a code we send to your email.

Timing and cost. We respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we tell you why and may take up to 45 more days. Requests are free.

We will not treat you differently because you use these rights.

06How to appeal

If we decline your request, you can appeal. Email privacy@anidoapp.com with "Appeal" in the subject line, within 60 days of our answer.

We will answer your appeal in writing within 45 days and explain our reasons. If we deny your appeal, you can contact your state Attorney General:

  • Washington: atg.wa.gov/file-complaint
  • Nevada: ag.nv.gov
  • Connecticut: portal.ct.gov/ag
